Meet Our Personal Trainers
Hi, I’m Jake! I’ve been an ACSM certified trainer since February 2019. I was first inspired to become a personal trainer when I was working as a front desk employee at Push by Alcovy Fitness. I found that I enjoyed seeing people reach their personal fitness goals, and that I had a knack for helping them achieve their goals! While I enjoy working with clients with many different goals and needs, my specialty is in muscle/strength building and athletic types of training. Outside of training, I enjoy playing golf, working out, and hanging out with friends. I view every day as an opportunity to become a better person both physically and mentally, and that drives me to push myself everyday both in the gym as an athlete and outside as a person.
Hey y’all! My name is Maggie. I am a NASM certified personal trainer, NASM certified nutrition specialist, NASM certified senior fitness specialist, indoor cycle instructor, and AEA certified aqua fitness professional.
My fitness journey began when a new gym opened in town with childcare. At the time, I had a 18 month old and a 3.5 year old (they are now 5 and 7). I wanted to lose the rest of the baby weight and get healthy. I quickly fell in love with working out, some would even say I was obsessed.
After going to the gym for about a year and a half, I decided to get certified in indoor cycle, and quickly after, started the certification to become a personal trainer. I wanted to help others in their fitness journey, as so many did for me.
Being a group fitness instructor and a personal trainer, has been one of the most gratifying jobs I’ve had. I love interacting with clients and other gym members. Seeing people achieve a goal is so rewarding.
No matter what your goals are or current fitness level is, I’d love to help you thrive. Whether you’d like to start by simply taking a HIIT or cycle class, or if you’re ready to dive head first into training I’ll be there every step of the way with a friendly smile and lots of encouragements.
Hi! My name is Cheryl. My fitness journey started a few years ago when I was pregnant with my son. Family and friends were starting at a gym so I wanted to join as well. Being pregnant though I wasn’t sure what all I could do. Then someone told me about Barre, and that’s where the love started.
I was able to take Barre my whole pregnancy. As soon as I was able, after he was born, I was right back in the Barre room. This allowed me to lose a lot of my baby weight and start toning back into shape. Then friends I had made at the gym kept encouraging me to take a Spin class. After a couple of classes, I was hooked on the bike.
Months went by and my love for fitness grew and grew, and I finally decided I wanted to share my passion for fitness with others. With the support of my husband and children, I was encouraged to pursue teaching fitness. Now I am able to teach and encourage others to push themselves and help them reach a new fitness level with every class.
After a year of teaching group fitness I felt like I wanted to reach my clients in a different way. More one on one, personalized training, and help them see themselves transform to reach their goals. Now as a Personal Trainer I am able to get to know my clients more personally. Show them that even the smallest changes now can pave the way for bigger changes in the future.
So whether you wanna meet me at the Barre, join me in a Spin class, or have more personal goals you want to achieve through Personal Training, I am here to help, encourage and guide you to a healthier lifestyle!
Hello, I’m Rob. I’ve been a personal trainer at Alcovy Fitness and Wellness for over 3 years, though my experience in the gym extends well beyond that. My official fitness journey started roughly 8 years ago. I wish I could tell you that I began working out to improve myself, but honestly, I began training so I would look better in my cosplay outfits. From that point, I began training as a bodybuilder, though I have begun strength training much more in recent years. In addition to this, I am also well versed in rehab work.
Before I was a trainer, I was a server at a restaurant and a technician in a laboratory. I am 6’4” tall, and unfortunately, these jobs were not meant for someone my size. I developed severe back problems and was losing my ability to walk. It was a difficult time, but I was determined to get better. After several years of rehab and rebuilding my strength, I not only repaired my back but returned stronger than ever. I know the pain that many other people have been through, and I want to help them overcome their problems.
While I am certified as a personal trainer, I feel my background in science is the foundation of my training. I received my Bachelors of Science in Biology from Georgia State University, and I am currently working on my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the same school. I love teaching others why we work out, why we need to be healthy and the science behind our training.
I’m Lisa, a Certified Personal Trainer through ACSM. My fitness journey really took off in college while completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education at The University Of North Georgia. I love teaching others to adopt fitness into their unique lifestyle and helping them take the reins on their own health. I was born with out a hip socket and had complete hip reconstructive surgery as a young child. This helped shape my mindset growing up to help individuals with a variety of “set backs” work to achieve any goal they set their mind to.
Through College, I worked an internship with college athletes at the University of North Georgia as well as student teaching with elementary school children in Physical Education classes. I found my passion lies with one on one strength and conditioning coaching to help clients progress in functional movements that will better their day to day life while also helping them reach specific goals.
After Graduating college in 2017, I obtained my Certified Personal Trainers Certification through the American College of Sports Medicine and began Training full time. I have since made Personal Training my part time job while having a full time career as an Account Manager for an Insurance Agency.
I have three handsome pups that are my world and certainly help me keep an active lifestyle even outside of the gym. We enjoy hiking, kayaking, and adventuring all over Georgia on the weekends. So if you are looking to better your daily life and work toward a better YOU each and every day, come sign up for some personal training sessions at Alcovy Fitness and Wellness.
